Snow removal work has been running at full speed on the Schynige Platte Railway for weeks now. Due to the particular weather conditions and late snowfalls, the start of the summer season has been postponed by one week to Saturday, 8 June 2019.
Return visitors are rewarded
The Schynige Platte Railway wants to thank its regular guests this season and reward all who visit the “Top of Swiss Tradition” experience mountain more than once. Anyone travelling to the Schynige Platte between 8 June and 3 July 2019 will receive a 30% voucher for a second excursion during the 2019 season. The voucher can be redeemed at all Jungfrau Railway stations from 4 July to 27 October 2019.
A night in the mountain guesthouse
The Schynige Platte is particularly idyllic after the close of business. When all the day visitors have returned to the valley, the hosts of the mountain guesthouse take care of their hotel guests and spoil them with Swiss delicacies. The Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau can all be seen from the spacious sun terrace.
From the beginning of the season until the 4 July 2019, the train journey is combined with an overnight stay in the mountain hotel (incl. half-board) at a special price of CHF 119 per person in a double room or CHF 149 per person in a single room. After a good night’s sleep in one of the newly renovated rooms with starry sky and a hearty breakfast, the overnight guests can take the well-known panoramic hiking trail towards Faulhorn-First before the arrival of the first train.
New attractions from July
As soon as the snow situation permits, work will be carried out on the implementation of the new summit attractions on the Schynige Platte. In a creative and playful way, guests young and old can immerse themselves in the newly staged mountain world from 4 July 2019.
The proven concept with the Alphorn blowers is maintained. They play daily from the beginning of the season until 27 October 2019 between 11 and 14 h at the Berghotel Schynige Platte. Everyone interested can try alphorn playing for themselves. A visit to the Nature Cinema with its oversized picture frames, peaceful oases, comfortable seats and glockenspiel offers active recreation.
