In 1912, the Jungfrau Railway was opened, a pioneering work among mountain railways. The cogwheel railway transports passengers from Kleine Scheidegg to the Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe, which is located 3,454 metres above sea level in a world of rock, ice and snow.
